།འགྲོ་མང་འདུས་པའི་དབུས་སུ་འགའ་ཞིག་གིས། །མཚང་ནས་བྲུས་ཤིང་ཚིག་ངན་སྨྲ་ན་ཡང༌། །དེ་ལ་དགེ་བའི་བཤེས་ཀྱིས་འདུ་ཤེས་ཀྱིས། །གུས་པར་འདུད་པ་རྒྱལ་སྲས་ལག་ལེན་ཡིན། [AP] Even if others should expose my hidden faults or deride me When speaking amidst great gatherings of many people, To conceive of them as spiritual friends and to bow Before them in respect—this is the practice of all the bodhisattvas. [KM] Even if someone humiliates you and denounces you In front of a crowd of people, Think of this person as your teacher And humbly honor him — this is the practice of a bodhisattva. [RS] Though someone may deride and speak bad words About you in a public gathering, Looking on her as a spiritual teacher, Bow to her with respect—This is the practice of Bodhisattvas. [AB] A bodhisattva’s practice is, even if someone exposes our faults or says foul words (about us) in the midst of a gathering of many wandering beings, to bow to him respectfully, distinguishing that (he’s our) spiritual teacher. |
